How to love bad experiences

The goal

This is an honest article, that will try to show that renaming things, doesn’t mean that will help you change them or get through them. You can say that an experience is challenging in order to give a positive point to it, but you also can leave it as is, and say that it is a bad experience because this is exactly what it is. The challenging part is to accept that, bad things can happen, but you can learn a lot from them.

Facts

People, very often are afraid of bad experiences. They can traumatize you, they can make you feel unsafe, and also sometimes, they create lack of trust around. But all experiences have two sides: one good and one bad. We can train our minds to focus on the good side of everything.

The power of learning

When you are facing a bad experience, write down how you feel about it and why. Then try to turn it around. For every negative feeling, try to focus on a future state of you. Learn out of it and create an actionable plan about what can bring you to the other side. Learn where it can drive you, and how much strength it can give to you.

Example:

For me, the pandemic is a bad experience. I am feeling lonely, stressed, anxious. I feel this way, because I can not see my family and my friends, because I don’t want to have the virus myself and spread it around, and because I am afraid about what can happen to the people I care about.

Now, I know exactly what I feel and why. So I will try to create my plan about how I will move one step forward.

Action plan:

I will call my friends more often so that I don’t feel lonely.

I will do self-tests before seeing my friends so that i am not stressed.

Learnings from the pandemic:

Health is what matters the most. I can be grateful every day for that!

Respect other people and be careful before we meet them. Don’t care only about yourself but also care about other people as well.

Have a good time with yourself because you will spend a lot of time alone…

If you think about how many things you can learn from a bad experience, you will love it. Because learning is one of the most important things that can help you improve yourself, become stronger, and move forward.

Learning is very important in our life. We can use it in order not to make the same mistakes again. Of course, we can do other mistakes and will learn something else.

So, we can change the outcome of all those experiences to learnings and we will be more wise!
